Justin Masterson is the guest of honor. There will be a dinner and Silent Auction to Benefit the Maine Children's Cancer Program and the Strike Out Cancer in Kids Program. Irish Baseball Movie Night
Help bring baseball history to Ireland while watching Irish film. The Essex Base Ball Club will be showing the movie The Emerald Diamond, a 90-minute documentary about the Irish National Baseball Team.

The Essex Base Ball Organization is a nonprofit vintage base ball organization that travels the east coast playing baseball as it was played in the 19th century. They also hold demonstrations, kid's clinics and lectures on the history and evolution of the game of baseball. The event will help raise funds to send a group of players to Ireland to play against local teams and set up kids clinics and lectures on the history of the game.

Lowell Spinners Alumni Dinner
This year's Alumni Dinner will feature Red Sox shortstop Jed Lowrie as the Guest of honor. There will be an autograph session with Alumni Award Winner Dick Berardino and also Jed Lowrie. Other invited guests include former Spinners stars Jeff Farrell and Jason Twomley, as well as New England baseball legends Bob Tewksbury and Walt Hriniak.

There will also be a silent auction. The event will benefit the Joann Weber Charitable Fund. Joann was the co-owner of the Lowell Spinners who in 2006 lost her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

PawSox manager Ron Johnson will give fans a preview of what the 2009 club will look like. Several PawSox players and top Red Sox prospects like 1B Lars Anderson, OF Zach Daegos, catcher Mark Wagner, RHP Kris Johnson, RHP Dewon Day and reliever Daniel Bard are expected to be in attendance for photos and autographs.

Holy Cross Baseball Leadoff Dinner
The fifth annual Holy Cross Baseball Leadoff Dinner will include a silent auction of sports memorabilia, a social hour at 5:30 p.m., and a buffet dinner at 6:30 p.m. Holy Cross Varsity Club Hall of Fame member Paul Brissette (Class of 1954), a former Crusader baseball player and starting second baseman of the 1952 national championship team, will be the alumni honoree for the evening. Members of the 2009 Crusader baseball team will also be on hand with their families, along with many Crusader alumni and friends. The keynote speaker for the night will be announced soon.

Boston College Baseball Night
Boston Red Sox President/CEO Larry Lucchino will be the honored guest and featured speaker at the 17th Annual Baseball Night In Boston. This is the largest single fundraiser for the B.C. baseball program and crucial to its continued success. Last year's event raised a total of $42,000. Proceeds help to defray the trip to Florida which is vital to the team's preparation. The funds raised also contribute to annual operating expenses including recruiting, equipment and scholarships.

Space is limited to 250 guests for the event and tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis and cost $150 a piece. To purchase tickets, contact the Office of Athletic Development at (617) 552-0772.

7th Annual Jackie Robinson Tribute
The Boston Red Sox will host their Seventh Annual Celebration of Life of Jackie Robinson with a special event at Fenway Park.

The Red Sox will host more than 150 area youngsters from the city-wide after-school programs of the Boston Centers for Youth and Families along with students from the Red Sox Scholars program and kids from the RBI Leagues. Among those who are scheduled to speak with the youngsters about the life and importance of Jackie Robinson are Red Sox Pitcher Manny Delcarmen and former Red Sox Outfielder and current Player Development Consultant Tommy Harper. Actor Gregory Gibson Kenney, who is a member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame Education and Advisory Board, will re-enact lessons from the life of Jackie Robinson for those in attendance.

Additionally, Ted Spencer, Vice President and Chief Curator of the Hall of Fame, and native of Quincy, MA, will be presenting Jackie’s new Hall of Fame plaque, the actual one that is displayed in the Plaque Gallery of the Hall of Fame. This is the only time that this plaque has ever left the Hall of Fame.
