At the Jason Varitek Celebrity Putt-Putt Tournament, Jason Varitek and his Red Sox teammates will compete in a round of miniature golf with fans spectacting and playing along. There will be live bands and fun and interactive games between fans and the players. Proceeds benefit Journey Forward, a non-profit aimed at bettering the lives of those with spinal cord injuries. Sat./Sun., July 17-18 7th Annual Cooperstown Classic Baseball Tournament
Local Boston baseball players have been playing a tourney in Cooperstown at the Baseball Hall of Fame since 2004. From 2005 through 2008, the Brockton Reds of the Massachusetts Independant Baseball League (MIBL) won this tourney without losing a single game, going 16-0. In 2009, the Athletics of the Boston Men's Baseball League clinched the #1 Seed, though the Playoffs were rained out. The 2010 tourney will feature 6 to 9 teams from Boston adult amatuer leagues, with games played at historic Doubleday Field, as well as other surrounding fields. Learn more.

Saturday, July 24 The Blind Citizens Beep Baseball Championship
The Boston Renegades are hosting the first ever blind baseball tournament in New England as the final leg of a three-city showcase to determine the Beast of the East. Results from the games in Long Island and Haddonfield, NJ will also count toward the championship. The four teams hail from Boston, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Learn more.
