BASEBALL ARTIST - DAVE OLSEN                    

Dave Olsen grew up in Medford, Massachusetts and lives in Woburn today. When he was younger, Dave spent nights copying sports photos in his room. In 1975, his first cartoon was published in the Woburn Daily Times during his junior year in high school. Since then, Dave's artwork has been published in newspapers such as The Boston Herald, Boston Globe and Providence Journal. He has won 5 New England Press Awards for Best Cartoon and Illustration, as well as the Massachusetts Press Award for Best Editorial Cartoon in 1985. He has worked for several professional sports teams, including the Boston Red Sox. Dave also works as an instructor at a day art program where he help adults with mental and physical disabilities enjoy artwork.
