18th White Sox help Boston United go undefeated in "pool play" at MSBL World Series

The Boston United finished "regular season" pool play 4-0-1 at the MSBL World Series in Phoenix, Arizona to clinch 1st place in the Federal Division. Unfortunately, they lost in Round 1 of the playoffs to Sacramento. Four members of the White Sox made the roster: Nate Pane, Mike Lembo, Jason Ackerson and Brian Houlding. Lembo and Pane each pitched for 1 win. Offensively, Ackerson hit .400, while Nate Pane had a game-winning walk-off double versus the Chicago Hi-Tops. Brian Houlding pitched very limited, as his pitching arm was being saved for late playoffs games, which the United did not qualify for.

September:
7th White Sox win Atlantic Conference for first time in franchise history!

With a dramatic Rockies win over the Yankees in extra innings, the White Sox clinched 1st Place in the MABL Atlantic Conference. Both the White Sox and Yankees finished the regular season 19-7, but the Sox hold the tie-breaker, having beaten the Yanks both times they faced them.

2003 marks the 6th time in the last 7 years the White Sox have advanced to the playoffs, but the first time they have won the division in the franchise's 11-year history.

The White Sox will battle the Atlantic Conference Wildcard Game winner this coming Friday.

7th Sox Bash with a Splash.
The White Sox celebrated the end of the season in style, as Al Wiesner opened up his home in Rhode Island for the festivities. From touch football, to pool volley ball, to wiffle ball, it was a full day of sports. Nate Pane was also the big winner on the Homerun scratch tickets, cashing in $50. John Howe ($10), Mike Lembo ($6) and Joe Lombardi ($5) also came up winners. Now onto the playoffs.
