acquired Boston MABL Brewers, 2002

Jeff Burns was one of the top players in the MABL Saturday League his rookie season, placing third in MVP balloting. He was the only player in the league to hit safely in all 15 regular season games, and also led the league in runs scored (29). In addition to his remarkable .519 batting average, Burns was also 5th in the league with 12 walks.

Burns began the season hitting .286 through the first 7 games. Unfortunately, his average dropped as he struggled with strikeouts, and after playing in the season's first 17 games, missed 5 of the final 7 games. Should Burns decide to play in 2003, he is expected to bounce back, as he was once one of the premier players in the MABL.

Awards: MABL Saturday League MVP, 3rd Place, 2001.

Appearances: 2001 Boston Dirt Dogs (AZ).
