acquired 2001 winter recruit

Jarrett Fay joined the White Sox after being recruited from Assumption College during the 2001 winter. While at Assumption, Fay was a Psychology major and baseball team Captain. His senior year, Fay compiled a 5-2 record, starting all 10 of the games he appeared in. He averaged 6+ innings per start, striking out 1 batter per inning on average. Fay also reached two milestones his senior year, as he became the seventh pitcher in Assumption College history to have both 200 innings pitched (210.1) and 200 strikeouts (202) for a career.

Unfortunately, after two pre-season outings, Jarrett learned that he had nerve damage in his pitching arm and was forced to miss the regular season.
