A southpaw Rob missed much of his 2001 rookie season with illness. Even still, Rob finished a perfect 3-0 in 9 games with the best ERA of all Sox starters at 2.84 and unbeaten in the MABL. In 2002, Rob also pitched 9 games while doubling his strikeout ratio (6.9 per 7 innings in 2002 vs. 3.5 in 2001) and cutting in half his walk ratio (1.8 per 7 innings in 2002 vs. 4.4 in 2001). Rob also displayed one of the best pickoff moves in the game, having surgically removed 4 base runners who were leaning a little too far. Rob holds the 2nd best career ERA in Sox team history at 3.67.
