Brett Rudy returned to the White Sox in 2004 for his seventh season as Skipper (ninth as a Sox player) -- during which time, he has led the squad to the playoffs 6 of 7 years. In 2004, Rudy led the team to their best record in franchise history at 22-4, and a tie for 1st place in the Atlantic Conference for the second straight year. Only the 2002 Yankees finished with more wins in a single season in MABL history. Unfortunately, the Sox were eliminated in the Atlantic Conference Semifinals by the Bluefish in two games. Rudy also saw limited action on the field, and during that time batted a lofty .364. Off the field, Rudy also masterminded the 100 Innings of Baseball Spectacular held in April that was the longest game ever played in New England and also raised $112,000 for The ALS Association Massachusetts Chapter in partnership with Curt Schilling of the Boston Red Sox. In 2003, Rudy led the team further than they had ever gone, all the way to the #1 seed in the entire MABL with a 19-7 record -- twice winning 7 straight games. Rudy also took the team to the Final Four, before being eliminated by the Royals. The league voted Rudy the 2003 MABL Manager of the Year for his impressive campaign. As a player, Rudy began his career with the MABL Phillies in 1994 and played the 1996 season for the Cross River Indians in the Westchester, New York MABL before returning to Boston in 1997. And from 1997 to 2003, Rudy played in 144 consecutive games across 7 seasons -- a record for the longest consecutive game-played streak in Boston MABL history. The streak ended 6 games into the 2003 campaign. However, by the end of the 2003 season, Rudy co-led the team in batting at .333. Rudy is a three-time MABL All-Star, twice as player and once as manager. He is the Sox All-Time leader in doubles with 27. His most remarkable season being 1999 where he finished Top 10 in the league in hits, runs, RBI and doubles while batting a whopping .433. Rudy's most memorable moments include hitting safely in consecutive years at Olympic Stadium in Montreal (a combined 2 for 3), as well as a stunning game in 2001 versus the Red Sox where Rudy put on a 5-hit display. Off the field, Brett is Marketing Director for the Boston Men's Baseball League, where he is responsible for managing league advertising, new player development and website design. Records: MABL All-Time leader, Consecutive Games (144); White Sox All-Time leader, Doubles (29), leader Extra-Base Hits (38). Awards: MABL Manager of the Year Runner-up (2004), MABL Manager of the Year (2003). Appearances: 2005 MABL Champion, 2006 & 2007 MSBL All-Star, 2004 & 2005 MABL All-Star Manager, 1997 & 1999 MABL All-Star, 2000 & 2002 Boston United (AZ), 2001 Boston Dirt Dogs (AZ).
