| Hugh Guilderson joined the White Sox in 2003 after gaining experience
across the Boston amateur baseball circuit, including the Yawkey League (Boston Padres
'95-'96 and JP Braves/Titans '96-'97), Park League (Boston Padres '97 and Chathams
Rowe '02) and MSBL (Newton Bombers '01-'02). Hugh's ability is known across the league, as he has been an All-Star in the Boston MSBL and Yawkey League, including back in 1995 when he won Yawkey League All-Star MVP honors after roping a shot off the Green Monster at Boston's Fenway Park. More recently, Hugh has proven he knows his way around the bases, as the last two years, he has finished #1 and #2 in the MSBL Diamond Division in triples. For the White Sox in 2003, Hugh was steady at firstbase, recording 127 putouts, 5th in the MABL amongst infielders. In fact, on April 27th in a 13-inning affair against the Marlins, Hugh racked up 19 putouts at first base, crushing the single-game White Sox record for putouts. The previous record was 15 by Dan Field behind the plate, and by a non-catcher was 9, shared by Guilderson, Sam Voolich and Mike Lembo. And at the plate, while Hugh struggled much of the season, he also showed signs of life, ripping 3 hits versus the Marlins on 8/28. In fact, Hugh hit .385 in August, and notched RBI's in 4 straight games from 8/15-8/28, finishing the season with 12 RBI -- 2nd most on the Sox. Hugh also had decent speed, swiping 8 bases without being caught once. But the game Hugh will likely remember most was versus the Mets on 6/21 at Olympic Stadium in Montreal, where Hugh singled and recorded an RBI in a Sox victory north of the border. Awards: Yawkey League All-Star MVP, 1995. Appearances: 2001 MSBL All-Star. MABL/MSBL Career Statistics: BATTING
