| Roger Malouf joined the White Sox after impressing team scouts
with his bat over two winter tryout sessions. Before 2003, Malouf last played competitively
in 1997 for Wakefield High School, but he never missed a beat apparently, as he quickly
added value to the White Sox with his thunderous bat and infield & outfield versatility.
A strong hitter, Roger got it done at the plate when it counted, three times collecting
multiple hits in a game -- his best game versus the Dodgers where he went 2 for 2
with 3 RBI to lead the Sox to victory. In another noteworthy game versus the Cubs,
Roger was the back-end of a double-steal that allowed John Howe to steal home. Roger
had 2 hits that day with a key RBI in a 4-1 win. Roger's bat got even hotter as the
season went on, as he hit .586 in July and .360 after the All-Star break. Roger finished
4th on the team in RBI with 8 and co-led the team in doubles with 3. Playing in 23
of 26 games, Roger was a solid fixture in the Sox lineup. MABL Career Statistics: BATTING
