| Nate joined the White Sox nine games into the 2003 season after
being recruited for his presence at the plate and versatility on the mound and in
the infield. In his first game, versus the Royals, he went 2 for 3 with a key RBI.
Over the season, Nate added blazing speed on the bases, as he twice turned singles
into triples by stealing 2nd and 3rd base consecutively after reaching 1st. He stole
7 bases overall, and never was caught. And once the Sox made it to the playoffs,
Nate got even hotter. Not only did he co-lead the team with a .357 playoff batting
average getting a hit in all 5 games, but he notched one of the biggest Sox hits
of the season. In the MABL Conference Semifinals versus the Marlins, the Best of
3 series was tied 1-1. And Game 3 was all tied up at 0-0 in the bottom of the 8th
inning. With the bases loaded, Nate stepped up and lined a clean RBI-single to drive
in Jim Baldyga to lead the Sox to victory and send them to the Atlantic Conference
Finals versus the Royals. A former collegiate pitcher for Bryant College in 1998 and 1999, Nate also added depth on the mound. In his first 2003 relief appearance, he entered with the bases-loaded and 1 out, yet shut the door without allowing a run. And in his second outing, he picked up his 1st MABL win tossing 4.2 innings and allowing only 2 hits. Nate played 5 field positions over the season and brought exactly the skill and experience the White Sox required. In 2004, Nate was named the starting shortstop for the White Sox and started all 26 games there. His defense performance was unprecedented, as he set the MABL single-season record for most assists in a season with 60, surpassing the previous league record of 57. At the plate, Nate was one of the hottest players in the game the second half, batting .486 in the final 14 games of the season. By season's end, Nate led the Sox in hitting at a .375 clip overall. Nate had 5 multi-hit games on the season, with two 3-hit games. Plus, Nate also added value on the mound, tossing a 3-hit shutout versus the Cubs in his only start, but tossing 14 innings overall without allowing a single run. Nate's dedication to the Sox, hustle on the bases, and positive attitude helped carry the Sox into the post-season. Records: MABL All-Time single season leader, assists (60), White Sox All-Time single season leader, assists (60). Appearances: 2005 MABL Champion, 2003 & 2004 Boston United (AZ).
