After graduating, Hoye played the 2001 season in Germany for the Wuppertal Stringrays in the Bundesliga League where he batted .382. For the 2004 season, Hoye proved he was also an offensive force in the MABL. He finished the season leading the league in triples (4), while leading the Sox in homers (2), RBI (18, 7th in the league) and slugging percentage (.551, 9th in the league). Hoye put together 6 multiple-hit games. One of the more impactful hits was versus the Cardinals, where his RBI single gave the Sox a 3-2 lead to allow the Sox to win the game. Hoye seemed to get clutch hits like this regularly, and recognized for these efforts, he was selected by the managers of the league to Team Elite as a top outfielder in the MABL. With his effortless centerfield play and strong leadership in the Sox clubhouse, Hoye was a great teammate all season long.
