Matt Malin joined the White Sox as part of the Royals merger in 2006. However, his strint with the Sox was short-lived. Matt appeared in just 3 games for the Sox, collecting just 1 hit in 8 tries during that time. That hit counted, being a 2-RBI single versus the Grays helping to secure a 6-5 victory. Prior to joining the White Sox, Malin had proven success in the league. His rookie season of 2002, he batted .357. During his sophomore season of 2003, Malin was selected to his first All-Star team for batting .316 at the break. Later that season, he helped the Royals win the Atlantic Conference Title. While his average slipped over the next several years, he remained a consistant contributer, chalking up more than 50 plate appearance each season in 2004 and 2005. Appearances: 2003 MABL All-Star, 2003 Atlantic Conference Champion.
