Marty Minns joined the White Sox during the Royals merger of 2006. A local kid from Arlington, Marty headed to Grinnell College in Iowa. There, Marty not only played baseball his senior year in the Midwest Conference, but was also a member of the Grinnell College Percussion Ensemble. Minns returned to the Boston area and joined the MABL Royals in 2004. A versatile player who could pitch and play infield, he saw limited action his rookie year. By 2005, however, Minns had more than doubled his batting average to a solid .269 and cut his ERA in half to a respectable 2.55, compiling a 1-3 record in 11 games pitched. When Minns joined the White Sox in 2006, most of his 19 innings were out of the bullpen, and he once again lowered his ERA to an impressive 2.21. Minns is an intense, hand-nosed player, and the Sox are happy to have him on board. Appearances: 2006 Atlantic Conference Champion. MABL Career Statistics:
