Matt O'Hara was the #1 pick overall in the 2002 MABL Draft, going to the Royals. Of 145 players at the tryout, only 27 were selected, with O'Hara going first. His rookie season, O'Hara did not disappoint, catching 22 games for the Royals. During that time, he batted a solid .283 and recorded 111 putouts and 21 assists. O'Hara also pitched 3 games for the Royals that season, compiling a 1-1 record and averaging a strikeout per inning pitched.

O'Hara missed the 2003 season, returning to the Royals again in 2004. However, Matt compiled just 1 hit in 18 tries that season over 8 games. In 2005, Matt nearly doubled his playing time and tripled his productivity, but still struggled. When the Royals merged with the White Sox in 2006, O'Hara had his opportunity to get back to original form. O'Hara raised his batting average 50 points from the prior season, smacked 6 hits, and caught in 19 games. Plus, O'Hara was strong behind the plate, nailing would-be base stealers on occasion. 2007 is expected to be the season where O'Hara fully returns to original form.

Appearances: 2006 Atlantic Conference Champion.
