Steve Baldassari played his first two MABL seasons for the Padres where he batted for a combined .381 average. In 2006, he also led the Padres in batting with .396 average and also led the squad in RBI and doubles. Baldassari rarely struck out, striking out just 3 times and 4 times those seasons. Steve split time between the White Sox and the Brighton Black Sox of the Yawkey League in 2007. For the White Sox, Steve struggled at the plate much of the season, but still found ways to contribute and help the team win. On June 29th versus the Grays with the game tied 2-2 in the bottom of the 7th inning, Steve led off the inning with a walk. After advancing into scoring position on a bunt, Baldassari then stole third base. The throw and Steve came into 3rd at the same time and the ball scooted into left field. Steve took off for home and slid into the plate to win the game. That style of hard nosed play was what you got from Steve every game.
