Nate Butcher

Nate Butcher joined the Boston White Sox after last playing in High School at Pinkerton Academy in New Hampshire. At Pinkerton, Nate led the team in RBI and Slugging Percentage. On "Senior Night" against Keene (#1 in NH at the time), Nate hit a walk-off homerun and went 3 for 3 in his final high school game against Zach Piccola, who was later drafted by the Detroit Tigers.

Nate is no stranger to playing on Champion caliber teams. Nate played on New Hampshire State Champion teams in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001. He was also selected to the All-regional tournament team in 2001.

For the White Sox, Nate got in a few games toward the beginning of the season and began playing regularly at first base toward the end of July when injury to Omar Ortiz and the departure of John Byrne to the Far East opened the door. Nate hit at a .105 clip, but always played hard, put the ball in play and moved runners along. Nate's work schedule and commute allowed him to play only 9 games and miss out on playoff eligibility.
