Rob Kotzen played his high school baseball at Beaver Country Day School helping to keep his team atop the Eastern Independent League standings for four years. Kotzen himself was always atop the league in batting and fielding percentage playing both firstbase and thirdbase. His senior year, he was given the Coach's Award for outstanding play and leadership.

In 2006, Kotzen spent his freshman collegiate season playing for Brandeis University. Brandeis was ranked Top Ten in Massachusetts and earned a #2 seed in the ECAC post season tournament.

Kotzen is in the process of transferring colleges and plans to continue his baseball career wherever he ends up next fall. In addition to the MABL White Sox in 2007, Kotzen will play for the Yawkey League's Brookline Dodgers.

Kotzen attributes his athletic success to long-time advisor Eli Goldberger and soccer coach Mike Haynes. In fact, playing soccer as a goalkeeper, he helped the Beaver Country Day School soccer team to two league titles and three New England private school tournament berths.
