Mike Moloney is the best pure hitter to ever wear a White Sox uniform. During his tenure on the Sox, Moloney captured (and still holds today) the all-time career and single season records for all three offensive categories: batting average, slugging average and on base percentage. Moloney could just plain hit. In 1998, in a Ruthian-like moment versus the Red Sox, Mike blasted a "called" triple to center. After the game, Moloney, referring to his called shot, said “Ruth was a wuss only vaguely pointing to center field — I actually told the bench that in the next pitch I was going to hit a drive to center.” In actuality, the shot was in the left-center gap. Perhaps Mike's most ironic game was versus the Yankees on 6/6/99 when he went 4 for 4, missing the cycle by a triple (Mike was 7 for 8 against the Yankees over the season). What made this ironic was that after the season, when high school friend, Jeff Coveney, took over management of the Yankees, Mike opted for free agency and joined the Bronx Bombers — the team he remains with to this day.

Records: White Sox All-Time leader career Batting (.562), White Sox All-Time leader career Slugging (.986), White Sox All-Time leader career On Base Percentage (.625), White Sox single season Batting (.571), White Sox single season Slugging (1.019), White Sox single season On Base Percentage (.625).

Appearances: 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1999 MABL All-Star.
